about me fashion lifestyle devotion inspiration promotional booking | collabs social girls merch posted in lifestyle , shop 7 must haves for c-sections april 23, 2018 162 19 agh it feels so good to be back! what do you write about when you’ve been away for 7 months? there have been many “life” moments, to where i thought ” i should blog about this..” and yet, there never seemed to be enough time in a day. good news, life has slowed down, therefore, i am b-a-c-k!! one thing i’ve really wanted to share with you is my journey of 4 c sections. side note : whatever way you have delivered your children, kuddos to you, because any woman who carries a growing human, is a strong woman. the way god chooses to have you deliver, is up to him. but please know that any delivery requires preparation, incredible strength, breathing in and out, demanding a fight like never before, and a recovery process, mentally, emotionally, and physically. so take a second, and give yourself a pat on the back, because mam’, you did that. (insert big smile here) today, i want to share with you some recovery tips that have been helpful for me. i am an open book so hopefully it wont be too much for you, but seriously, its real life people. its not all beautiful baby and go home. its more like give birth to a beautiful alien baby, and in the meantime, you’ve used the bathroom on yourself, you have a catheter in places that you’d rather not, you’re swollen from head to toe, the whole world has seen you from head to toe, and you kinda look and feel like a whale… your body is full of fluid therefore you cant see your ankle bones aka cankles… giving birth is rough, but man is it worth it all! trust me when i say, i wouldn’t have had 3 babies 3 years in a row, if it hadn’t been worth it! | below, i have listed 7 things you need to have on hand for a planned c section | oversized max pads are a must. you will need these for a good month post baby. i use to cover my incision, as well as the other. the hospital should provide a certain amount of these, however, i always had on hand to prepare properly. post baby pad the c section binder – this goes around your stomach and back. it helps support your incision as well as protect. with having toddlers following surgery, i always kept this on. i wore for almost 2 months post surgery. this is huge to recovering properly. purchase c section abdominal binder here the most incredible undies of all times for pregnancies and c sections. talk about granny panties, but when i tell you, i don’t know what i would have done without these… heck i still wear them! they not only support your incision, but they help hold the pad in place for protection. when you add the binder on top, you are absolutely set! i cannot tell you how much i swear by these! i also had hernias all 3 pregnancies to the point of limping when i walked, and these helped support me! they’re currently on sale!!! get at least 3-4 pair! i promise you wont regret! below are 2 sets that i love and still wear. my incision is still sensitive some days. these are a must have! maternity undies maternity undies okay so here is where i get all transparent… but its truth people. every time while pregnant, and post pregnancy, i have experienced constipation. lets get real, it is the worst. one thing i have used to help constipation is drinking “grapefruit water” using grapefruit essential oils . i don’t sell oils, so there is no benefit here. it is a natural way of helping. the key is drinking this consistently days prior to surgery. they pump your body full of meds which leads to constipation. however, drinking the grapefruit will help give you a jump start. i cant guarantee that it works, but for me, it seemed to work every time. young living grapefruit essential oil you must know the hemorrhoids will come. i hate to admit it, but i also want to prepare you properly so that you can have everything you need! i always had wipes, creams, and anything that could possibly help, on hand. because of my incision, i couldn’t soak in hot water, therefore, these items were my go to creams, soaking salts, medications necessary to help feel relief: sitz bath epsom salt for soaking tucks medicated pads preparation h cooling gel medicated wipes after my incision healed, and stopped oozing, i began to apply this oil. i always struggle with keloid scarring, therefore my scar is quite hideous, but this has helped decrease the keloids. below is bio oil , as well as “ scar away ,” to help minimize the scar tissue. the items help with scarring : scar away strips bio oil the belly band is a must ! as i mentioned earlier, i had serious hernias. this belly band was a god send. i searched and searched and finally found this one. i need something to not only support my belly, but also support my groin area, because of the pressure. obviously i would have preferred not to wear, but as the baby grew, the hernias bulged even worse and it was either wearing the belt or bed rest! support belly band i hope this has helped you !! submit your questions or things that you would like to hear more about!! don’t forget to subscribe to taylormadu.com in order to receive directly into your inbox!!!! happy monday!! continue reading posted in inspiration , lifestyle when god writes our story october 9, 2017 522 89 s eptember 21 somewhat felt like deja vu. contractions had begun a few weeks prior, but gradually grew closer and closer as the days passed. 11 minutes, 9 minutes, 13 minutes… before i knew it, 8 minutes, 6 minutes, 7 minutes… were these braxton hix contractions? or were these legit “i’m in labor” contractions? the question of all questions of a prego, and how in the world do you know the difference? i never had either with evie or nnaj. however, this feeling felt familiar because i experienced this with micah, my firstborn, 12 years earlier. for those of you who are unaware, when i was 17 years old, i became a statistic of teen pregnancy. pastors daughter, trapped in an unhealthy relationship that i couldn’t seem to escape. after 3 years, i found myself pregnant out of wedlock, only to carry my baby boy, micah, for 32 weeks. i went into early labor on christmas eve of 2005. pressure, contractions, were signs that led me to believe something was happening. after sitting in applebee’s, while visiting a friend that came into town, the pressure seemed to interrupt our conversation. i took a break to visit the bathroom, only to realize, i was about to deliver my baby. my sister, my heart, meshali, was with me that day. she rushed me to the local hospital and physically led me into the er. her body was my support, as i limped my way through those sliding doors, barely able to stand to walk. a few minutes passed, and the next thing i knew, i was checked into a room, told i was dilated at a 10, and ready to push. they pumped me with meds to stop the labor, but it was too late. doctors, nurses, rushed in the room. chaos is an understatement. i felt my body naturally begin to push. they told me not to, however, it was as if my body was rebelling… everything inside of me pushed. in a moment, my water broke. it was like a bomb. the impact was so great, micah flipped and turned breech, and this is when mine and his little heart beat dropped. they pushed me down the hallway, where they were about to perform an emergency c-section. they actually put me to sleep, and i eventually woke up to my personal “valley of the shadow of death..’ micah had lost oxygen. the umbilical cord wrapped around his little body, and life offered me my stillborn baby boy. i mentioned this story, to lead you to my next point. because of this specific incident in my life, my doctor never wanted me to actually go into labor again. i was and currently am considered “high risk”. every pregnancy, the delivery date was scheduled a week prior from my due date. this helped me to avoid going into labor. also, i made the decision to take progesterone shots, to keep my levels
